The contact owns a 2008 Ford Taurus. While backing out of a parking space, the contact heard an abnormal noise from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was brought to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that the rear coil spring fractured and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000. Updated 01/27/17 consumer stated both rear coil rings required replacement per dealer. Repaired updated 7/10/18
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Taurus. While driving between 30-40 mph the steering column began to violently vibrate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. The technician stated that the rear camber was misaligned; which caused unusual tread wear on the rear tires. The failure could not be remedied because it was caused by the design of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 15,000. The current mileage was 31,000. The VIN was unavailable.
