I've had the vehicle on several occasions when I've applied the brake lunge as if I'd stepped on the accelerator; I've even looked to see if I had somehow hit both pedals at once. So far, I've not hit anyone/thing but that was just good fortune in each instance, with several near misses. In fact, I've even mentioned to others that the two pedals must be too close to each other. Now I've read where other owners have had the same experience. Don't know where to begin with finding a solution. Other issues with drivetrain/power/speedometer/fuel gauge that I'll report elsewhere but wonder if all these glitches are somehow related.
IHAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM WITH MY FORD TAURUS X 2008 . THE CAR ACCELERATES AND JUMPS FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY AFTER SOUNDING AS IF IT IS FORCED. IT DOES NOT CHANGE GEARS, IT'S ALMOST AS IF IT IS STUCK AND CAN'T SWITCH OVER. AFTER WHICH IT WILL UNEXPECTEDLY SHOOT FORWARD AND I AM TERRIFIED THAT IT WILL HIT SOMEONE EVENTUALLY. I HAVE HURT MY BACK AND DRIVING MY GRAND CHILDREN WE HAVE ALL BEEN THROWN FORWARD WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I HAVE CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DONE ..
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE.
