My 2008 Ford Taurus Limited, which I purchased on a lot only 2 1/2 months ago, just had the PCM (brains of engine) malfunction causing cylinder 3 to fry coils, also cylinders 3, 5, and 6 are misfiring. This is a $2500 repair which is extremely common in this year car along with other models including Lincolns. There is even a bulletin up about this problem in these cars. Ford knows that the parts in these cars are defective and yet they have not sent out a recall!! I was sold a defective car of a lot which Ford wants to take no responsibility for. Also, Ford says it is not their problem since my car is 7 years old and they only cover cars up to 5 years old! Another reason why they will not touch my car is because it has 103K miles on it and they only cover up to 100K miles which is the mileage my car had on it when purchased! I cannot believe a company like Ford Motors will take no responsibility for a defective car that they have sold to the public. Currently, my family owns 8 Ford vehicles and this is causing a huge disappointment and trust in the Ford brand. This problem should have a recall!!
