2008 Ford Taurus SEL - Sedan - FWD - 3.5 v6 - Titanium Green Metallic

This car has been a TRIM and paint disaster since I bought it in 2012. I know the original owner personally and they took very very good care of the car.

But once I got it things just seemed to go.

So as you will see in my other post under premature rusting for the Drivers Side Rear Fender which cost $565 to fix.

After rust proofing my car over before winter, waxing it, using krown salt eliminator.....It has started to break out rust around the " dog legs" of the car.

I was totally shocked. Now this part of the panel had not been replaced. But when the original rust repair was done in the fall of 2013 there was 0 rust down there.

Then i was doubly shocked to see on the passenger side in the same area it's starting there and worse.

It's a good car. But I'm cursing myself for buying it. I had a 1999 Intrepid that was never rust proofed and it went almost 12 years before any corrosion showed up on it ( and they were notoriously bad for rust).

So when I talked to the body shop guy he said ya...it's going in the same area the Ford Escapes do as well.

This car first showed up with rust @ the age of 4. Which i then fixed. And now even after being oil sprayed rust is still coming through.

2008 Ford Taurus Sedan purchased new. 3.5L v6. Titanium Green Metallic.

Starting to rust on drivers side rear fender. $400-700 to fix.

Did not purchase rust proofing but the car is washed all the time & is parked in a garage all year.

Just outside corrosion warranty by a few months Ford would not cover.

Car had 138,000km roughly when it happened & mostly highway miles.

ABSOLUTELY Ridiculous a car made that's only 4 years old would start to rust out. I know people 2001 neons that never wash them, sit outside & still don't have exterior body rust as of 2012 & neons aren't in the same price segment. Tells you right there Ford Quality Control of paint metal. TOTAL BS.
