The contact owns a 2007 Ford Taurus. While driving at speeds of 35 mph, the flex exhaust pipe fell onto the ground. Upon further inspection, the contact noticed that the pipe was rusted. The contact stated that the flex pipe was located in the front of the vehicle near the engine. The contact made repairs to the vehicle by adding wire to the pipe and proceeded to a nearby repair shop for a replacement. The manufacturer has been contacted. The failure mileage was 28,000 and the current mileage was unknown. Updated 05/10/10 the consumer stated the flex pipe was poorly designed. Updated 06/15/10.
Pulling out from parking lot when exhaust went loud. Found out bolts on exhaust by manifold pipe snapped allowing exhaust pipe to hang down in front causing the pipe scrape along road if hit pot hole or raised area of roadpipe could have been pushed back causing unknown damage. Could have been worse if was on freeway or operating at higher rate of speed.
