Transmission seems to lock up and unlock constantly, regardless of weather, speed and driving conditions. Codes indicate trans solenoid 1. Had it replaced, 500 miles later, same thing. Seems to be getting worse and shop can't figure it out! First it starts "bucking", then the check transmission light comes on for a while. A while after that, the check engine light comes on. When they clear the codes, it may last days or weeks, or do the same thing leaving the shop driveway. Can't trust the car anymore until this gets resolved. Next thing could be a blown transmission! Wife had a 1996 Taurus before that we passed down to the kids. That is well over 200,000 miles now, and still running like a champ! This one is frustrating!!
Update from Sep 21, 2010: Diagnosed at Dealer as being cut or broken wires in the harness that runs by the transmission. Only have a few hundred miles on since the fix, but it seems to be good now. Gas mileage going back up.
