When coming to a stop or just braking, the "check brake system" alarm will come on. Here are some more facts about this occurrence. - It's almost completely idiosyncratic. - It seems more likely to happen when the weather changes (happens a lot in Texas.) - Sometimes it does this rapidly while I'm at a red light - Sometimes my entire engine just shuts off, no power steering etc..(while under 10 mph, can easily pop it into neutral and start the car all the while still moving/braking) - Mechanics are baffled (I have new brake pads, brake fluid, codes are fine, etc) - Sometimes I won't even be braking and the radio will cut out and come back on - I don't need to really worry about it if I'm on the highway (going pretty fast) - Sometimes it will just go away for about a few months to a year, regardless of the weather - It's genuinely a liability
