I've owned my car for the last 6 years and after a hard rain or a constant rain, the passenger front floor gets soaking wet with water and I have to use towels and then run the heater on the floor for a couple hours to get it dry. Very annoying. Thankfully I haven't had any electrical issues related to this problem.

I have a 2006 Ford Taurus that is leaking water into the front passenger floor. I notice that there are multiple complaints of this nature. When taking the car to brighton Ford dealer (tom holzer); they refused to even attempt to repair. This should be fixed at the manufacturer's expense. First noticed this problem in June 2009 and it leaks every time it rains.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Taurus. When ever it rained, water accumulated in the floor on the front passenger side of the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed the failure, replaced the cowl panel and rain hat. The repair was unsuccessful and water was on the floor again after it rained. The dealer stated that a water stain came from the air conditioner. They also stated that they needed to replace the dashboard, the pad on the wire fall and re-seal items around the heater box. The contact stated that due to the manufacturers defect, the repair would not remedy the failure. The manufacturer stated that they would not be responsible for any of the repair costs. The current and failure mileages were 75,100.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Taurus. After rainy weather, the contact noticed approximately two inches of water on the front driver's side floor. The excessive water caused the carpet to have a strong odor. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but was not repaired due to the expired warranty. The failure recurred on a separate occasion, but the vehicle has still not been repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and current mileage was 61,400. Updated 11/12/08. Updated 11/14/08.
I have a 03 Taurus which leaked water onto the passenger floor board also causing my ac blower motor to short out. I could not get Ford to act even though a related recall existed under 03V087000. I have found many others with this problem.
Seems my 2006 Ford Taurus has this common condition. I noticed the damp padding on the front passenger side only after hearing a squishy sound when I pressed down on it while adjusting the mat. So I pulled the carpet up and sure enough the padding was wet like a sponge. I could see where the water seems to come from the firewall on the passenger side, near the center console. This problem is very annoying and makes me unable to concentrate on the driving. Ford should recall to fix this common problem for all Taurus owners. This is obviously a factory defect!
