Car acted like I got bad gas, and light came on. Code printed a whole list but main one was replace ignition coil, so did that and car ran better for a few days but not great. Couple days later died in driveway and wouldn't start, so wound up replacing spark plugs and wires right there with what we had. Total pain in the ass! Ran better but still not great, and light came back on after a few days. Plugged it back into computer and code P0305 came up, which is just engine misfire and printed a whole list to try. Have replace fuel filter, ran fuel injector cleaner through it several times, and still light comes on and it runs like crap. Idles rough and dies, sometimes not wanting to start again. Hesitates when I accelerate in traffic. HATE THIS CAR! I bought it two years ago because I was on a strict budget and wound up having to replace the transmission after only a few months because it left me stranded on a trip with my kids. Also have replaced starter twice. TOTAL LEMON!!

on 8/12/2010 my check engine light came on. the car ran bad and kept stalling. after 3 days of trying to solve problem. they said a number of things before they said i need a new brain. within 1 week i took it back because the light was on. they said they just had to reset.

today July 21, 2011 the car hardly started, the check engine light came on. they did a diagnostic and I am going through the same process again. " we are not sure whats going on". i guess since the brain is under warranty, they will look for the next expensive thing to fix. FORD, solve my problem.

I bought this car last year and had it 3 months before it would just stall out while driving. Took it back to the dealer and they wouldn't do anything about it. Took it to another Ford dealer and after 2 weeks of putting parts on and then taking them off again, they fixed the computer and a wire. It was running fine for a few months and now it is starting to stall out again. Took it back and they had it for 5 days and it wouldn't stall out while they had it. Got it back and the second day I was driving it, it stalled again. The mechanics are baffled and cannot figure out what is wrong. Has anyone had this problem and had it solved? I'm afraid to drive the car!

I was driving home from work when my car just stopped with no warning!!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily I just started pulling into the driveway when this happened. I am so frustrated that there is not a recall on this and regret ever buying this car now. I just bought it a year ago and it only has 58,000 miles on it and i am told that it is either the torque converter or transmission. Neither of which is an easy fix. I am told that it costs between 1500 to 3000 dollars to fix. meanwhile I am still making payments on a car that I cannot drive. because realistically who has that kind of money just lying around for an unlucky day. I will not buy another ford and make this a warning to anyone thinking about buying a ford...DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE JUNK AND A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing ford has going for them is their name Fix Or Repair Daily...that is exactly what you are getting.

I first bought the car in March of 05 as a resolution to high gas prices as a trade in for an Expedition. Within a month I started noticing a problem. It started to shake at a stop light. It didn't happen again for a few months then the sh*t hit the fan. It wouldn't accelerate and would shake pretty violently. I called the dealership and they said the car may need a tune up( yeah right). So I took the car to the dealer and found out that the tune up is going to cost $300( HELL NO!!!). So I took it to an outside mechanic and found out that it only needed a fuel injection cleaning( $30). The car ran great for 3 or 4 months then it started all over again. Only this time the car shut off on my wife as she was driving on the freeway at 75 miles per hour. So as far as I'm concerned Ford can kiss my ass. I hated that piece of sh*t so much that I surrendered the car to Ford. DO NOT BUY A FORD!!!! Found On Road Dead is right.
