The US government spent THREE YEARS (2008-2011) investigating the 2002-2003 Taurus coil springs. Although Taurus/Sable from earlier years were recalled, ultimately the NHTSA did not force a recall. Drivers window went down and will not go up.sometimes it would not go up or down and the interior lights would not work either. As far as I am concerned Ford's are pieces of shut and we have three with driver side door or window problems.
The left rear window has never worked since I got the car. Not a huge inconvenience since people rarely ride in the back and need to put down that window, and the reason I decided it's not worth spending the money to get it fixed. Still, it's just a pain to have a window that doesn't work on the rare occasion you might need it to!
