This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My 2001 Taurus ses has had a hesitation when I engage from park to drive, after a second or two it finally engages into drive. Every dealership I spoke to stated they could not duplicate the concern. I have had it since 2001 and I still have this issue. I feel as if Ford hid something in this manufactured product and now I have a problem that no one can find.
While driving it was hard for the consumer to shift gears. The dealership was notified but did not resolve the problem. Please provide any additional information.
The consumer states that the engine had a lack of breaking, a malfunction in the transmission shifting, the left front window had locked, the switch caused the starter to become inop/remain in power, and the ignition switch locked in the start position. The dealer refused to remedy the problem.
The dealer ship will not help me and blames me for the problems with the car and Ford agrees with them I am getting no help and the car drive horrible for being a 2001. I have had nothing but problems since I purchased this vehicle and I beleive I have been mislead in purchasing this vehicle. No safety defect listed in summary.
