The contact owns a 2001 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the driver was driving 45 mph when the front driver's coil spring fractured. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop and the coil spring was repaired. An authorized dealer was then notified and stated that the vehicle was no longer covered under the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 04V332000 (suspension:front:springs:coil springs). The contact owns a 2001 Ford Taurus. While driving 35 mph the driver's side coil spring failed. The mechanic replaced both coil springs, a damaged cv joint, a failed connector rod, and a damaged strut. The contact never received a safety recall notice, and didn't know if the repairs were performed with the previous owner per recall# 04V332000. The contact had the front brake pads repaired. The current and failure mileages were 120,000.
The vehicle started shaking, and then the left rear tire blew out. The mechanic informed the driver that the rear coil springs and struts needed to be replaced. Please provide additional information.
Front left coil spring broke while driving on NY thruway at 65 mph. Car had to be towed for service. Parts damaged included replacing the coil spring, the strut, axel, tire, and axel bearing.
