Dates and cost are not exact as multiple problems were fixed at the same time. The ball joints went bad and needed replaced. While they were repairing the ball joints they found the left rear spring (coil) was broken also. Total bill for both ball joints and one coil spring was 1100 dollars plus. The recall change for tire protection which only affected the front springs had already been installed at as soon as it had been received..

I took the Taurus in for routine maintenance and was told both front ball joints were worn. I couldn't believe it. The mechanic showed me the problem with both front ball joints. He also stated the left front axle was bad. I had all the above replaced. I was told that this is an on going problem with the Taurus.
