After my engine light came on, I had a P401 code. Without having good diagnostics to determine the cause. I tried the shotgun approach.
Replaced in this order EGR valve, DPFE sensor, EGR control, EGR tube, DPFE sensor. I replaced the DPFE sensor a second time due to I finally found a way to test it easily (safety pins, volt meter and pump with vacuum option for airbeds). The first DPFE sensor I put in must have been bad.
