My car door doesn't always latch immediately when I close the door. Sometimes I have to drive 5 miles holding the car door closed with one hand before the door will latch. This happens during the winter months. The car has to warm up before the door will latch. I have tried lubricating the door latch and that doesn't work. There haven't been any technical service bulletins written about this issue. The car door latch works great during spring, fall and summer.
2000 Ford Taurus will creep while stopped. Consumer was informed by the dealer that the vehicle will do that and there is nothing they can do about it and there is not a recall. Consumer would like to know if that is true.
2000 Taurus recall - front coil spring shields for vehicles in corrosion states customer is requesting to be taken off mailing list* the consumer was told the shields were not necessary, because she does not live in a state where the recall applies.
Letter from a company wanting to extend auto warranty which my dealer Ford says is a scam since they do not honor them nor Ford.company called national programs headquarters at 11039 manchester rd St.louis, mo. 314-965-9008.
Consumer states that the equipment to have the recall done is not available. Consumer scared to drive cause they had two accident as a result of this defect.
Dash indicator will not illuminate until vehicle has been running for 10 - 15 minutes. Dealer refuses to replace it under warranty until dash fails to illuminate at all.
Engine light kept coming on. When taken to dealer, he thought fuel tank cap might not been on right, but light keeps coming, and that was the reason engine light was coming on.
Check engine light came on after start-up. Car sputtered during warm-up but drove fine until about 1 hour of interstate driving. Once pulled over, car would not start. Recall for fuel relay module I never knew about. Local dealer fixed problem but check engine light came on again today (08/26/01). Car still sputters when started.
When attempting to shift vehicle out of gear, the gear shift malfunctioned preventing vehicle to go into gear. Consumer has contacted dealer. Dealer has to replace computer system and other parts. Consumer also stated the window trim has come apart leaving the windows scratched, engine light comes on, the engines emission control needs to be replaced, brake shift interlock is inoperative, the steering cloumn was replaced, front tire keeps losing air, rear brakes light need to be replaced.
While traveling under 40 mph and applying or tapping brakes, and then reapplying accelerator, engine will begin to rumble and cause vibration in vehicle for a couple seconds, and then shutdown. Engine check light will come on. This also occurred while vehicle was idling. Consumer sometimes wasable to restart vehicle after this event occurred, ,while other times he was forced to have vehicle towed. Dealership has examined vehicle, and worked on fuel pump on two occasions, and fuel delivery module replaced by a manufacturer's recall. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
This vehicle is in the shop on a pretty regular basis for one defect or another. Especially eletrical defects. As of today, 05/21/2001 the "check engine light" is on and car is going back to the shop. I have contacted Ford several times at diff. Levels with no real help. I am paying too much money on a lease to be out a car once a month. I know lemon laws don't apply but can't I get some help here?
When accelerating onto interstate highway the engine momentarily cut out, the battery light flashed on then off & the check engine light came on & stayed on all the way home.dealer checked it out and found no problem.it has operated perfectly ever since.dealer performed test P1237 & ssm 14041 & could find nothing wrong..
This vehicle has been a nightmare since we bought it from team Ford in June. The car has been to the dealer three times for two days per incident and the same problems continue while they gradually discover more problems each time. A car with 5200 miles on it should not need the varied and unique combination of replacements our car has required. The car makes a rotational grinding noise while at freeway speeds, when going over bumps or taking an involved turn the car makes a pop/crack noise from left/front of car. The car has stalled three times during freeway and city driving. The driver's side window creaks and shudders when being put up or down. The car hesitates when started in 80 degree weather and comes close to stalling when initially putting into gear. Now and then car makes lunging motion and noise when put in drive or reverse. I could go on and on...I am reporting defects and problems to better business bureau and the Nevada attorney general's office. Please help!
Consumer bought vehicle brand new. Vehicle stalled anywhere without prior warning. Also, engine check light came on the dashboard. Consumer took vehicle to the dealership.
