Engine had a backfire explosion while trying to start vehicle in driveway. This caused vehicle to be inoperable. Notified dealer & had vehicle towed. Mechanic checked engine & indicated a backfire had occurred in the intake manifold which was split/cracked from the explosion. Was in the shop 4 days before parts arrived for repairs. After repairs, placed on diagnostic machine & engine still not working. Manufacturer issued a recall #00B38 the first of April. Vehicle was manufactered in May 26, 2000.
