Consumer was slowing down for a traffic light when vehicle started to accelerate instead of slowing down. Consumer shifted into neutral, heard engine rev. Shut key off in order to stop vehicle. Restarted vehicle, and it ran normal for another mile. Consumer will contact dealer to determine cause. Consumer has noticed that tauruses with adjustable pedals have a softer brake pedal with more play than other vehicles.
When accelerating up hills, car makes a clinging noise & will not go any faster. It sounds as if engine may blow up if you try to press gas pedal harder. This was reported to dealer and they claimed they fixed. It seemed okay but next day problem still.
Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision. Upon impact, passenger's airbag did not deploy, resulting in minor injury. Vehicle was totalled. Vehicle suddenly accelerated and did not slow down, vehicle crashed into a dumpster, stopping the vehicle, consumer contacted manufacturer and was told there was no way of telling what caused the accident.
Vehicle accelerated suddenly and unexpectedly, resulting in a collision which caused minor injuries, and property damage. Vehicle at the dealer for inspection and repairs.
Vehicle accelerates mostly at speeds of 35-40 mph, engine revvs. Consumer has to brake to slow vehicle down. The vehicle also backs up while in drive and while stopped at light.

Consumer was traveling on highway and vehicle stalled without prior warning. Had to avoid a truck and went into a ditch. Dealership replaced iac valve) twice. On February 17 a mass air flow sensor was replaced. Also, processor computer chip replaced, and steering wheel locked up. Vehicle had earlier problems tha were still existing.
When approaching a red light and slowing down to stop consumer felt the car suddenly accelerate rather than slow to a stop, consumer stopped the vehicle for a half hour and after putting the vehicle in reverse it violently accelerated backwards, dealer has been unable to find the problem. Nlm
Sudden acceleration when ever vehicle reaches 25 mp. Been in dealer shop on several occasions. Also, notified manufacturer of this problem, and was unable to locate problem. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
While traveling at highway speed with cruise control engaged. Suddenly vehicle commenced to accelerate and smoke was coming from under hood, hot plastic from the dash was falling on the leg of the driver, also, driver's shoe and sock caught on fire; vehicle left road into a field and struck a tree. State patrol arrived to assist. Please feel free to provide any further details.
We were sitting in "bumper to bumper" traffic on a downward incline, when the car ahead of me moved forward about 8 to 10 feet. I took my foot off the brake to coast forward also, but my car moved at a faster rate than I anticipated. I quickly tried to brake the car again, when my foot caught up on something in the process and I could not depress the brake petal. In two seconds I was into the other car. The obstruction proved to be the brake light boot switch. Upon inquiry later, my dealer said the boot switch could not be changed or moved, without a redesign by the manufacturer, Ford.
While driving vehicle surges. But, when fuel tank is filled up vehicle will shut completely off. Dealer has been contacted, and inspected the vehicle. They could not determine the cause of the problem.
