Car shuts down while driving it. Have been back and forth to the dealership where car was purchased since the summer. Car was in the shop a month ago and I was told that it was the relay switch to the starter. Car has not been fixed properly because on 11/07/03 car shut down 3 times and a few more times over the weekend. Car was taken back to the dealership on 11/10/03 service tech called and stated that it is the black box and that it will cost $1500 to get it fixed.
Vehicle stalls intermittently at any speed. Vehicle has been taken to dealer 3 times, fuel pump and starter switch were replaced/computer was updated, and wiring harness was repaired, has not remedied the problem.
While traveling at highway speed with cruise control engaged. Suddenly vehicle commenced to accelerate and smoke was coming from under hood, hot plastic from the dash was falling on the leg of the driver, also, driver's shoe and sock caught on fire; vehicle left road into a field and struck a tree. State patrol arrived to assist. Please feel free to provide any further details.
