I recently could not get my car inspected in NY because of a Check Engine Light. I found that is was my O2 sensor. so I replaced all 4 of them. Now the light is back on and I had it checked says sensor 1 bank 2. why would this keep happening? And yes the check engine is back on also indicating a small evap leak?

Taurus SE Wagon 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission

As a woman, I purchased this vehicle brand new believing that it would be reliable and go the distance. This has not been the case. My local Ford dealership, where vehicle was purchased ripped me off twice on repairs (quoting me one price and doubling it when vehicle was picked up). I discussed this with the Service Manager with no satisfaction. Since that time, any repair work has been done at Cdn. Tire. But this latest problem is going to be costly and I wonder if its worth fixing since the vehicle is now almost 11 years old and I've wanted to downsize for sometime now. There is a distinct rattle coming from the wheel area and a loud engine drone when speed goes beyond 50 kms. I'm still driving it, but wonder when its going to quit. I will not buy another Ford, despite their commercials that they've turned the corner. They don't stand behind their product and I'm tired of being ripped off by repair centers. Next vehicle will be a Honda or Toyota...they appear to be much more reliable.

The light's been on for the whole time we've had it, and our longtime friend & mechanic said just ignore it because they couldn't find anything significant.

It always ran fine till recently anyways.

Have had others look at it, but not much due to cost of diagnostics. And the fact parents gave us this lovely POS.
