Vehicle stalls out while driving, no warning flashes to alert consumer. Problem is intermittent. Deaelr keeps saying they have internal memorandum, but until there is a recall they're not doing anything about it.
Freeze plugs blew out without warning at 65 mph on interstate hwy; temp gauge within normal range and "check engine" light did not come on until engine died. Required head gasket job as well as repair of freeze plugs. Temporary loss of power steering when turning corners on wet streets. Windshield fogs over completely when defrost/defog is turned on before it clears. Temporary loss of vision through windshield resulting in extremely hazardous driving conditions...
Was driving approximately 40mph when it suddenly stopped. Was no warning. Vehicle towed to mechanic. Found engine damage due to lack of fluid. Freeze plugs ahd fallen out, and leaked fluid. Vehicle fuel had registered overheating.
While sitting in traffic smelled engine coolant. 15 minutes after traffic broke lose, at 60 mph, check engine soon, illuminated. Temperature showed normal. Then, the engine stalled. I barely got the car over to the side of the interstate in heavy traffic before it quit. Engine then overheated. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. I was told by service rep that the engine would have to be replaced. The damage was caused by heat. Repairs covered under tsb 97-24-16 have been performed on this car, although not by the dealer. Maurice at Ford customer service said they would absolutely not do anything to help me out.
The cool system has been recalled and was supposed to have been repaired but it is I do not want turnpike Ford to do repairs on my car I know there work and do not trust it that is where the car was purchased still giving us problems the coolant in it turn to a rust the heater will not get hot now the tempernture hand on guage stays down on the C all of the time we have tried to call Ford Motor Company about this and the will not give us a answer on the problem we have been toll that other people have had the same problem and some say that Ford has replaced the engine in some of the cars. Can you please help me I do not have the finicial means to buy another car.
Ongoing problem with engine stalling during deceleration. Vehicle has been in dealer shop and independent repair shops on six occasions, and problem still reoccurring. Stalling mostly occurs when driving on a down grade while slowing, consumer states vehicle will not stall if the air conditioner is turned on, nothing comes up when vehicle has been hooked up to diagnostics computer to find out problem.
While driving on highway in rain storm, instantly when consumer took foot off gas pedal and put it on brake pedal, engine failed which caused a loss of brakes, resulting in rearend accident.
When driving consumer noticed vehicle overheated due to a leak within the engine compartment. Also, a problem with battery draining out, and headlights come off and on. Consumer have contacted the dealer. The thermostat failed.
While traveling at 65mph, vehicle started to lose power, engine check light came on, then engine quit. Consumer had to get to shoulder by using hazard lights. While consumer was on shoulder engine caught fire. Consumer says temparature gauge went to 3 quarters intermittently.
While driving 65mph noticed vehicle was losing power & then died out. Smoke was coming from the front. Checked underhood & noticed oil leaking from engine. Vehicle was towed to dealership. Informed by mechanic anti-freeze going inside of engine compartment. Head gaskets failure caused engine to blow up.
Estimated costs of 3000 dollars to repair engine and cooling problems 60 days to diagnose problem still does not run correctly no warranties even with a purchased extended warranty dealer has been closed by the attorney general for fraud. No satisfaction from Ford Motor Co.
