This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Most recently, car caught fire while I was driving due to the leakage of transmission fluid. The car was replaced with a new engine when it needed its 2nd head gasket replacement. Now it needs a transmission replacement. The car has barely 50000 miles on it in 5 years--it is outrageous that it is in such need of repair work. I will be forwarding complete documentation of what my car has gone through. The car was at the dealer getting repaired what was damaged by the fire but I am having a transmission specilaist repair the transmission since the dealer quoted $1300 higher to repair.
I have had head gasket problems, brake problems(rear calipers),rotors, transmission fluid leakage, radiator leakage, engine cooling system, A/C pump failure
The vehicle started overheating. Head gasket was leaking anti-freeze. Took to dealer & mechanic noticed an oil leak. The transmission oil was leaking, but location could not be found.
