Ford has extended coverage for '95 Taurus' with a V6,3.8. I have a '95 Taurus with a V6,3.0 and they aren't including the 3.0's. no safety defect listed in the summary.
Radiator overflow is two pieces and the top is gluded on. If vehicle overheats top of plastic radiator overflow container will explode sending boiling antifreeze onto anyone in vincity. This happened today. Driver raised hood an saw coolant overflow bottle sides were buldging and at that same instant the container blew up causing second degree burns from face to waist.
The desert motors service dept. Said that although there had been a recall on this problem, my vehicle and engine were not included in this recall. I sent a letter of complaint and digital pictures of the failed and deformed head gasket to Ford mtr. Co., consumer assistance ctr. In dearborn, mich. But so far no response
Engine failure - took car in on 12/23/1998 to have test for warranty (Ford 98M01). Paid to have dealer test coolant and engine for leaks ($146.98), told me ok, 4 months later I have used twice a much antifreeze as before and there are know visable leaks. Dealer told me out of warranty tough luck. Transmisson, had in for service several times under warrany, said fixed but now problem is getting worse, .tells me you are out of warrany, tough luck.
