The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.

While approaching a stop, there was an abnormal squealing sound detected from the tires, with the vehicle vibrating. The vehicle was randomly changing lanes while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who test drove the vehicle and confirmed that the vehicle had abruptly downshifted, and the tires were squealing.
