On Monday 14th December 2015 around 1.30 pm I was driving my one year old FORD Ranger 3.2 diesel when I heard a noise coming from the engine a short time later a warning light on the dashboard came on, the vehicle was driven to the side of the road where a pool of engine oil was discovered below the said vehicle. I called the company who tool me to get a wrecker and bring it to the company that cost $800.00 TT dollars , it was not until Monday 21st of December 2015 that anyone from the Ford company call to confirm my suspicions that it is indeed a blown turbo to date I am without a vehicle nor do I have any update to the work done on the vehicle nor has the company seen it fit to gave me a vehicle to use in the mean time . This vehicle cost $368,000.00 TT dollars and this is the treatment from the Trinidad and Tobago Ford company Charles Street Port Of Spain.

Ranger XL 2.2L Diesel

  • Manual transmission
  • 29,826 miles

On Wednesday the 26th of August 2015, my 1 year old Ford Ranger 2.2 Diesel made a noise and lost power, I called the agent roadside assistance at 15:35, who was helpful and followed up, but they used the AA who only came and collected me at 18:00. They then took me to the nearest Ford dealer Consolidated Auto in Boksburg, who was closed by now and I had to get my wife to drive all the way from Randburg to come fetch me. The following day Consolidated Auto tells me the will see if they will have a chance to look at my car. The did briefly and said the turbo blew/is faulty, and asked for my service book. The Friday I told them I could not find the book, but they must contact Paul Maher Auto in Black heath and speak to the Service Manager Victor who is brilliant, he will send them all the invoices and answer any queries. The never came back to me I called them at 17:00 and they told me that the one service was done at a non agent, and I skipped a service, I asked them did they call Victor and they said no they checked the system. I called Victor and no one called him. The Saturday after I had time to get my Service book, I took it to Consolidated Auto and they made copies. Monday they tell me they made a mistake they looked at another truck, and all seems fine. Well no call from anyone to apologise and ask how they can get me to have faith in Ford again as my wife really had her heart set on an Ecosport which she now will never buy. Well today is 1 Sept and no car yet, and they still expect me to get a lift to go and collect it. Built For Tough???? after 48000km's the Turbo go???My heart is absolutely shattered as I really love my truck, but how long will it last now? I really expected better service and better quality from the leading Truck seller in SA. O and OI logged a call with Ford Customer care line on Friday, no call yet, one email saying within 48hrs (does not say working days) and this morning another one saying 24 hrs???? Now they do not want me to see the foto's of what the turbo looked like or who they contacted at Ford SA, I wonder if the turbo really blew, and if this was a way to make money?

Update from Sep 2, 2015: Well done Ford, you have come to the party and have Extended my Powertrain Warranty, well there is some faith back. I really would have enjoyed a set of side rails as well, but I am happy.
