One failed door latch replaced under warranty. Second door latch replaced at my cost as the 3-year Ford Warranty had recently expired.
Despite my letters to Ford USA [see below], Ford never replied to me and hence NEVER CONFIRMED TO ME THAT MY FORD RANGER TRUCK IS SAFE.
I am not prepared to take the risk of, or live with the awfulness of, causing the death or injury to my passengers and/or other road users by owning a Ford Truck with side Door Latches not declared safe by the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA. I bought a Ford Truck in good faith, but my serious safety concerns have been totally ignored by Ford. To me, even after the Pinto disasters, shamefully, Ford still put profit before safety.
I have been left with no alternative but to dispose of my Ford Truck. I now own a brand new truck of another make that gives me peace mind for the safety of my passengers, and of other road users.
I have made very understandable and very reasonable requests for safety assurances, but I have been treated appallingly by the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA. I shall never buy another Ford motor vehicle.

My letter dated 12 May 2017 sent to: Ford Motor Company - Headquarters P.O. Box 2000 One American Road, Dearborn, Michigan 48121-1899, USA
For the attention of Mr Mark Fields – President & Chief Executive Officer, Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA
Dear Sirs, SAFETY CONCERNS FOR MY 4-DOOR FORD TRUCK Ford Door Latch Safety Recall Number 16S30 : Supplement #1 dated 6 September 2016
I send this letter to document my total displeasure with the discourtesies that I have experienced from Ford as the owner of a 4-door Ford Truck purchased brand new by me, and that might have serious safety issues.
Herewith as Attachment 1 is my e-mail dated 11 April 2017 addressed to Mr Mark Fields – President & Chief Executive Officer, Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA advising that I have experienced TWO side door latch failures on my 4-door Ford Truck in Thailand that are similar in all respects to the Side Door Latch failures documented in USA Safety Recall Number 16S30:Supplement #1 dated 6 September 2016, requiring 2.3 million Ford vehicles be recalled in the USA. My two failures indicate that the recall could be a global issue.
Herewith as Attachment 2 is my letter dated 26 February 2017 posted Airmail to Customer Service Division, P.O. Box 1904, Dearborn [For the attention of Service Engineering Operations] which comprehensively details the reasons for my serious concerns regarding the safety of the Door Latches on my 4-door Ford Truck.
Despite my requesting assurance from the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA that the Door Latches on my Ford Truck are safe, my correspondence has received no response by e-mail from the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA. Ford not having the courtesy to respond to me is an unforgiveable contempt for me.
I requested assurances from the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA in writing that the Door Latches on my 4-door Ford Truck are 100% safe, but despite the comprehensive information that I have supplied, the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA are not able to give me that assurance. In the absence of that assurance, by default, I have no option but to conclude that THE SAFETY OF MY FORD TRUCK IS NOT CERTAIN.
Because the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA, will not respond to my requested assurances, I am not prepared to take the risk of, or live with the awfulness of, causing the death or injury to my passengers and/or other road users by owning a Ford Truck with side Door Latches not declared safe by the Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA.
