Ranger Sport 4.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 39,300 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

This was replaced due to the fact the the piston in the factory caliper froze up,and ate the lining off the pad. Seems like this is low mileage for this to happen.

Ranger Sport 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,744 miles

At 18,900 kms the inside front calipers were both sticking because of "rust", the mechanic freed them up and greased them. I was told that Ford does not grease the slides at the factory and the mechanic greasing them at the dealership was part of the brake "service". That cost me $240 on a vehicle less than three years old! My argument was that if the pads or rotors had worn out from excessive use that was my fault, but this was a mechanical failure that Ford could have prevented at the factory with the application of less than a $ Dollars worth of grease, because that is all the mechanic did to rectify the problem. Instead I am $240 out of pocket. I am not a happy customer of Ford.

Ranger XLT 2.4L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,300 miles

Brakes should not fail in 6,000 miles.

Now, since dealer turned rotors instead of replacing them, the life of the rotors is now halved.

Dealer also adjusted rear brakes.
