This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Ranger. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the contact had driven over a patch in the road which caused the spare tire located under the vehicle to detach from the vehicle. The tire rolled down the road and into a field. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000. Consumer stated the cable that raises and lower spare tire broke.
Tire deflated due to a cracked valve stem. A second deflation three days later on another of the tires. That also had a cracked valve stem. I decided to have the remaining two valve stems replaced as I felt this was too much of a coincidence. I had the work done at a local tire shop. I own a 2007 Ford Ranger.
