The contact owns a 2007 Ford Ranger. While driving approximately 55 mph, there was an extremely strong odor of fuel from inside of the vehicle. The contact maneuvered to the side of the road and noticed a significant amount of fuel leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the fuel line was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The contact experienced the failure as mentioned in the recall associated with the 2010 Ford Ranger under NHTSA campaign id number 11V126000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings). The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
