S10 direct reply - a letter addressed to president trump regarding an incident with a stuck acceleration pedal on a 2001 Ford Ranger. The consumer stated the accelerator pedal stuck to the floor causing the vehicle to crash through 2 buildings and into a brick wall. The consumer attempted to depress the brake pedal but, it did not slow the vehicle down. The vehicle's accelerator pedal remained stuck to the floor after the crash ended. The consumer suffered multiple injuries that required emergency surgery.
When putting on brakes, while driving the gas pedal exhilarated. Truck crashed into telephone. I had the Ford Ranger 2001 towed to body shop, manager says it is a total loss to my insurance company.
The brake pedal and gas pedal are too close together and the travel of the pedals overlaps making it possible to accidentally press both petals at the same time. This ocurred in the winter when I was wearing heavy boots but is possible at any time.
While driving at 55 mph consumer applied the accelerator pedal and the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. This caused the vehicle to jerk. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not duplicate the problem.
