The vehicle displayed the same malfunction on Oct 15 2003 (3 months after warranty expiration)and was brought in for repair at the dealer at a cost of $1500. There is 3 or 4 recalls on my Ranger and I was never notified of any. With the tires I tried to do something and they told me there was nothing I could do because I changed the tires myself to something else before I even new they may be problems. I also own a 1998 Ford escort and could not pull up that model can you tell me if there was any recalls on that one. Thank you.

Requested to have governor (speed limiter) removed from vehicle, Ford dealership will not remove. Consumer wants governor (speed limiter) removed because it allows the speedometer to exceed at a speed of only 90 mph, dealer declined removal stating that the speed limiter is a safety feature.
