problem #2

Dec 012014

Ranger XLT 3.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 142,915 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Drivers side frame cracked and broke in 2 at the shock mount. The rear spring shackle rusted off, while under load. The weight and loss of suspension height caused the shock to over-compress, and the frame split as a result.

This is probably due to the frame being rusted out around the shock mount due to a design flaw. The body has no rust but the frame is finished.

Ranger Off Road 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,000 miles

I cant believe a truck with 78000 miles that the rear frame would fold at the shock mount and break off, as well as the spare tire mount.now I have to re frame the rear end and weld it together hopefully it will hold.My truck is not the only one, know of 4 rangers with the same problem, any one else have this problem.
