This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
After researching your service bulletin database I found 2 like problems relating to mine. Compressor failure. # 96-20-6 and # 96-22-6 this vehicle is only on its second summer of use. An air conditioner compressor should not self destruct causing expensive repair to the entire system. This is a known defect that Ford is aware of and they will do nothing about it. It is not in my budget to hand out $1200 (Ford estimate) for a piece of faulty equipment which failed due to an error at the factory. I have had nothing but problems with Ford dealership service departments, and can honestly tell you that I will never buy another Ford product again if this is how Ford treats their customers. Please help. Sincerely, mark lachappell
When turning on either air conditioner or defroster the gas surges and the vehicle accelerates forward. Took in for repair and dealer said that this is normal for the vehicle. To surge.
