Hi, I recently noticed my driver side door or not aligned with the body. And when I went to your website after noticing I found out that there was a recall issued on this situation. I think it-??s the door hinges. Please let me know as what should be my next step as this doesn-??t sound safe. Thanks [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving 60-70 mph, the driver's side door became ajar. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer gullo Ford of conroe (925 interstate 45 S, conroe, tx 77301 (281) 367-0000) where it was diagnosed that there was a faulty driver's door latch. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: Cas21669880. However, no further assistance was provided. The contact stated that the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number: 16V643000 (latches/locks/linkages). The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I was on the interstate traveling South with cruise control on. I went over a bump that I usually go over when headed in that direction and the driver door all of a sudden opened/unlocked itself. It was locked or else the dashboard would of indicated that my transmission was not in park before setting off on my trip.
