Brought my 2105 GT Premium 5.0 V8 Performance Pack last year at 22k miles. Now just hit 31k miles and an awfully loud whining noise started coming from the transmission area of the car.
Took it to Ford for them to immediately tell me that the AC Compressor as well as the Evaporator has gone, and is going to cost over $3,000 dollars to repair. That's over 1/10 of the cost of the vehicle for a problem that should only start to occur around the 60-70k Mileage mark. Ford will not cover this under their warranty and requires pulling the whole dashboard and steering wheel out of the car to repair.
On top of this I also had to get my Electric windows looked at as they kept opening and closing randomly without warning and also including when the car was turned off and locked!
Thousands of people have reported this problem and it is a know issue with these cars that Ford is aware off.
They have even re-designed the part and given it a new serial number however still charging people an arm and a leg for the repair of something that shouldn't have ever broken on such a low mileage car.
After doing research I found that the average mileage of a Mustang that has it replaced is 28k miles. Some people get it repaired under warranty free of charge but for some people such as myself when the warranty has only just expired they want over $3,000 dollars.
Please does anyone have any advise on how to get ford to own up to their failures and help assist with replacing my AC free of charge? i'm done with their bull crap and literally will never buy a Ford again
