I brought my car in last year for the rattling and they though it was wiring that was not properly insulted, but thats OBVIOUSLY not the case because it is still making this extremely annoying rattle in my dash. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM???
After having dealer address this issue twice before, once by removing the cluster panel and resetting and once by having a new panel installed the issue still hasn't been fully resolved. This vehicle still experiences a noisy rattle from the vibration of the instrument cluster panel. The vibration causes the instrument panel bezel rings to vibrate and rattle against the instrument cluster panel plastic.
Now the dealer is saying that although this issue started while car was under warranty, that FORD will not pay for the repairs now that the car is out of warranty. They dealer wants $250 to order a new part and there is no guarantee that this will fix the issue (since this didn't resolve the issue the first time the part was replaced). This problem has been reported on multiple message boards by different individuals, so it is not a unique problem with just my vehicle.
