The car will put the automatic transmission in neutral when stopped, and will require an acceleration to cause the car to enter first gear. When this happens, the car lurches forward. This is not every time, but is inconsistent, and leads to a risky situation where there may be a moment of unresponsiveness. The dealer has not been able to replicate the problem.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Mustang. While the contact was driving 5 mph she noticed that the check engine light appeared on the dashboard and within a few minutes the engine suddenly shut off; however, after the vehicle shut off all of the electrical components continued to operate normally. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealership and there were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 800.
