Water pooling behind driver seat on floorboard. Very strong chemical smell in car. Condensation inside all windows everyday. Car parked on driveway next to house. Initially taken to dealer ~1 year ago for odor (no water yet). Could not identify problem, nothing done. Technician doing inspection last week thought it was mold causing the overwhelming smell and there must be a leak. Took to dealer following Monday. Dealer determined a seam in the body needed to be repaired to stop the water leak. Dried and cleaned interior to get rid of smell. Unknown how long deodorizing will last though. Concerned about contact with mold.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Mustang. While the vehicle was stationary, water leaked into the vehicle from the passenger side and traveled to the back seat area. The contact stated that all of the windows were rolled up when the failure occurred. The contact stated that the water may have entered into the cabin from the seam where the hood met the front windshield. A dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

On May 25th, 2016 I was driving my 2010 Ford Mustang down vineville avenue when a car stopped in front of me and my car came crashing in to theirs, my front end of my vehicle went under the tail of their car, upon impact my airbags did not deploy. On that day I was getting another chance at life, thankfully I had my seat belt on, because I could have been easily another addition on the list of fatalities. I contacted Ford about my air bags not deploying and they had me to take my vehicle to riverside Ford in macon ga for testing on July 8th. After performing two test Ford still couldn't figure out why my air bags didn't deploy. Ford finally did one more test and they concluded that the air bag sensors went under the vehicle and missed all of the impact of the accident.because of how the vehicle was made. I was beyond blessed to have not been severely injured but what if the next person isn't as lucky as I am. I am writing this vehicle complaint not only for my self but to hopefully save the life of someone else. The mother coming home form work, the young adult headed to graduation, he or she who have been deployed and on the way home to see his or her family any and everyone could be affected by this. I hope no I am begging that you look into this matter. There are over 400, million drivers lets keep them safe. Thank you for your time I will be sending all of my documents(police report, pictures and Ford report) via mail. Updated 08/17/16 updated 09/18/2017

Paint on hood is rusting and paint pealing

My Mustang is only 6 years old, mint condition, only 21,800 miles on it currently. Paint is bubbling on the hood, about to start peeling off. After researching this today, I've learned that this is apparently a problem on multiple Ford models, including and beyond the Mustang, and spanning many model years. I understand that Ford is aware of this problem and has issued at least one tsb on it, if not more, yet continues to knowingly sell these vehicles with defective paint jobs on them, causing their customers financial loss in having to repaint the vehicle in as few as 3 years after purchasing. Due to the corrosive nature, this is an extraordinarily intricate process to repaint these and requires special processes and Ford is refusing to fix these vehicles even though they created the problem. It sounds like there is one lawsuit in progress but it only goes up to 2007 models I think, but apparently there are many vehicles beyond that year that have the same problem. I read "Ford used aluminum hoods but failed to properly insulate them from prior model year iron-based connecting and supporting parts, despite knowing that would give rise to galvanic coupling and corrosion" for a more technical answer. Also I found "what is interesting to note about this issue is that Ford actually wrote a technical service bulletin (tsb) and sent it out to all of its dealers in 2004 outlining the issues with the hoods and how to repair them properly, even though they deny all wrong doing or that an issue even exists - but it is pretty hard to ignore that an issue exists when a simple google search of 'Mustang hood problems' or "Ford paint problems" will bring up forum after forum of Mustang owners complaining about this issue". I also read a post that another tsb went out after the first one that includes all models up to 2016! please help us!

I just bought my 2010 Mustang, a car I've wanted for well over a decade and noticed the bubbling on the hood. I figured this would be something I could just take to a body shop and have fixed for a few hundred dollars, but after reading up on this issue, it is not from rust, it is from the aluminum hood being contaminated before Ford painted it, and if I repaint the issue will just come back. I need to know what to do about this, because I want my hood fixed so I can be proud of my new purchase without it looking like a rust bucket!

My hood (and I have noticed very many hoods) the paint is bubbling up and peeling at first I thought it was done by the mechanics. I punched it up on the computer and saw many complaints about it. I was waiting for some kind of recall. My car is now 5 yrs old but I have gone over 100,000 mi. Ford is blowing this off. They must be aware of this problem.

The hood on MY2020 Mustang began bubbling. My dealershiprrepainted it under warranty but 2 years later it began again. Dealership said it would and the only solution is to buy a steel, not aluminum, hood......updated 12/15/15
