Takata inflators: I received a recall notice on the passenger airbag last July 2016 and has not been replaced. My wife will not ride in it because of this. She has recently recovered from 2 bouts of cancer and does not want to get injured or killed because of a defective airbag. When can I expect a replacement?

Takata recall-- for the past 2 years I have received several recall notices (safety recall number 15S21/ NHTSA number 15V319) regarding driver and front seat passenger air bags. My dealer preformed the recall on the driver side air bag but for 2 years has been telling me Ford has not sent the parts to perform the passenger airbag recall. I had the driver side airbag repair completed. On 8/25/17 I called Ford directly. They said they have never had the parts to fix the recall and don't know when they will get them. Yet they continue to send me recall notices that say failure to fix the recall can result " serious injury or death." Seems like Ford is not making a serious effort to fix this known dangerous condition. Also, how many vehicles will change hands where the new owner will never receive notice of the recall or the dangers arising from failure to repair the recall?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 16V384000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The contact received the recall notification in August of 2016. The dealer (sunnyvale Ford, 650 E el camino real, sunnyvale, ca, 94087) was contacted at 408-522-0200 and informed the contact that parts were unavailable for repair and to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that parts were not available and that they were not sure when they would be available. The contact mentioned the sale of the vehicle and the value and the manufacturer stated they were not responsible for the value of the vehicle. No further assistance was offered. Takata recall--driver side inflator was repaired July 2016. In June 2016 received additional recall for passenger airbag inflator. It has been more than a year since notification. My vehicle is in the priority due to age and I am zone 1. I contacted the dealer in October 2016 and was advised they expected parts in January 2017. As of this date I have heard nothing. We are at risk for liability if I carry a passenger. It is not unreasonable to expect resolution after waiting a year and having a priority vehicle.

Takata recall plus drivers seat belt wont retrack very easy. Been to world Ford dealership in pensacola and they keep telling me to bring it in next month. It's been since Jan this year and still no airbag replacement. Been in there three times so far. Please let get this fixed before someone gets hurt or dead....

It has been one year since I received a notice from Ford for NHTSA recall 16V-384 that the passenger frontal airbag inflator was defective and could rupture if deployed. Yesterday I went to a local dealer for the fourth time and was informed that Ford still does not have replacement inflators. This is unacceptable. Please demand that they obtain replacement inflators.
