So, the convertible top isn't supposed to be allowed to operate at a speed over about 10 mph. Nevertheless, I was on the freeway one day while it was raining hard and suddenly the windows all drop and the top tries to drop (fortunately, you have to manually release the locks). Scared the hell outta me!! Then it kept doing it, OVER AND OVER. By the next morning it had stopped. It continues to do it without warning and without consistency - it is one of those frustrating things whereas I take it to the dealer to fix and they can't get it to do it, thus, they can't figure out how to fix it. I have gotten it listed in the car's file prior to the warranty expiring, so the people at the dealership said that they think Ford MAY fix it under warranty if they can ever figure out why it does what it does. The bad thing is I think that one day it is going to burn up the motors that operate the top, since it continues to run even while the locks to the top are on. It worries me that damage has already been done that will reduce the life of the motors.
I hope that by listing this here some others might see this and also list something or have an idea why the top is doing this - other than gremlins!!
