I have had my car in shop 4 times for the window not rolling up all the way and also the window rolling all the way up and then falling down on it's own. had it fixed under warranty 4 times and now warranty just ran out, it's doing it again. I wish this was a recall as i'm tired of dealing with this all the time.

Mustang Convertible V6

I purchased a 2007 mustang convertible with high hopes! Unfortunately, this has not been the case as I have had several problems with the car and very high frustration over FORD’S resolution to some.

First car in shop because windows would not roll all the way up when the doors closed which caused bad problem with water coming in the front doors. It was in the shop several times for this until it was partially resolved. I still have a problem with rain water coming in when it is raining heavy. I was told that nothing more could be done so I simply came to the conclusion that it must be because of the convertible top. Several months ago car in shop for warranty work--harmonic balance and another part (I can’t recall the name) was literally breaking apart, which caused my serpentine belt to go bad. The extended warranty paid for the harmonic balance and other part, but I had to pay for the belt and the labor to put the belt on…nonsense! During this same repair visit, I had Ron Carter check out the corrosion on my hood. I was subsequently informed that Ford would not cover the repair/replacement until the corrosion ate a whole all the way through the hood. I complained to Ford regarding the hood of my mustang and the corrosion that appeared on the hood and again Ford refused to pay for the repair or replacement of the hood until the corrosion “eats” completely through the hood.

AND NOW, the wires to the rear defrost came undone AND my passenger window was rattling again. I took my car in on November 2 (or so) to the closest dealership, Ron Carter Ford for repair. They had my car all week with no repair to the rear defrost completed (I picked up car on 11/6 and returned it on 11/12) so they could attempt to resolve the issues they were having with the replacement parts and complete the repair of my rear defrost and the window rattling. I should point out that the rattle in the door was a problem left over from the times the car was in the repair shop for the water leaking !

When I returned the car I requested that they (the Service Dept at Ron Carter) contact Ford on my behalf regarding what options we have to get this rear defrost working since the FORD REPLACEMENT PART is defective and will not fix the problem.

On 11/13 when I picked up the car I was informed the window had to be recalibrated and was charged for this. I did not see how a recalibration (of what?) would stop a rattling of what sounded like the window inside the door, but I paid for it. OF COURSE, IT STILL RATTELS! Then, I was told my rear defrost could not be fixed using the FORD REPLACEMENT PART and the best they could do at present was solder the wire back to the harness on the window. They did this and OF COURSE, I STILL HAVE NO REAR DEFROST as this “repair” (and I use the term loosely) did not work!

It was explained to me that the service department technician could not get the FORD REPLACEMENT part to “stick” and that according to FORD the only other option I had was to replace the whole convertible top at a cost of $1300 (approximately). WHAT!!!! Is it my fault that the part FORD provided for a fix does not work? NO! It is not my fault and IT SHOULD NOT BE MY PROBLEM!

Is anyone else out there experiencing these same issues? Maybe we need an attorney! I am fed UP!!!!!
