The front bend on hood of my 2007 Mustang is rusting or blistering. I brought to dealer to have fixed. The cost to repair is $1000 and warranty wont cover it. Also tried another body shop and they confirmed the cost and that its a known problem. Ford has no loyalty as this is a known issue with the aluminum hoods. There is even a service bulletin put out on this very problem. I have contacted Ford Motor Company several times with no help from there poor customer service.

Noticed the problem right after a warranty repair; replacement of vinyl race stripes. Other problems noticed hood pin screws stripped and over spray over entire vehicle. Work performed at Town & Country Ford Bessemer, AL one of the biggest dealerships in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Unfortunately, very poor workmanship and was left without a vehicle for nearly 3 months. Ford sells a great product, but dealerships, at least in the Birmingham, Alabama area are by far the worst in customer service and the guilty party "Management in the Service Departments!" Service managers show no initiative, or compassion for the customer and show no knowledge of vehicle warranties. Next vehicle I purchase will be based on customer support rather than a particular brand.

I don't really know how long the problem existed. My daughter drives the car and was away at college. I notice the paint blistering on the edge of the hood when she came home and I washed the car. I called Ford and they stated that they were unaware of any problems but to call the dealer (Brain Hoskin, Coastville, PA). I called the dealer and was told it was cause probable by a chip in the paint. I stated I didn't see a chip (and there was no chip according to the body shop). They said to take it to a body shop they recommend and get and estimate. I took and the shop owner said OH Yes Ford knows about this and gave me the run down on all of the Ford products that have had the problem. The estimate was for $877. Brain Hoskin sent me a letter today stating they would pay $700 and I would have to pay $177 to have it repaired.

I, like everyone else after researching this problem wonder why Ford won't pay for it since it is a defect that they have known about since 2000. I agree that there should be some way to force Ford to fix and repair this problem.

Paint on my 07 Mustang is beginning to peal off already at 80000 miles. The dealer says the paint is only guaranteed for 36000 miles. Ford should start using auto paint, not bicycle paint! Maybe if I worked at ford as a salesmen and wasn't a customer they would paint it for free.

NO MORE FORDS....not only am I having this problem, but as I sit here the car is in shop being fixed cause the harmonic balance and idle pulley, etc...is breaking apart..told just defective parts, yea, right! Ford will not fix paint problem on hood until it corrodes all the way through, useless to put me off...they will fix it!!!!! BUT, THIS ABSOLUTELY THE LAST FORD I WILL EVER BUY, and every chance I get, I am voicing/writing my complaints for all to see....

Paint along the edge of the hood started to blister in huge welts that peeled all the way down to the metal and fiberglass base! Dealership said that it was the result of a defective paint batch. Just another problem to add to the list of my "lemon"...
