06 Mustang Garaged and Washed every week, Taken care of better than most of the Vehicles on the road with all preventive maintenance preformed ahead of schedule. Fuel Pump went out at 75,000 Miles. Surging and hesitation when reaching 2000 RPM. Error on dash along with Code P0460. Cluster display reads DTE FLI DTE ERR. Upon further research it is common for air bubbles to get sucked into the pump as well as contamination from High Sulfur cheap gas that Most gas stations sell.
Tried a bottle of Techron Gas treatment and did not help. Only solution was to replace the Pump. I Ended up buying a carter Pump with extended warranty. Getting locking ring off and removing old pump was easy. However getting the locking ring back on and in position was a PITA. However the pump is easily accessible by removing the back seat.
