I have owned my 2006 Ford Mustang for three years now. During the past month, my battery has died two times. The first time I had a new battery put in. Two weeks later, it died again. I was told this time that the battery wasn't actually dead - it was drained. I Googled this problem and discovered many other Mustang owners complaining about the same issue. I called Ford Motor Company and they said to take it to a Ford Dealership. The mechanic looked at my car yesterday (ran a full diagnostic test) and found no specific problem - I was told that this is just a "known problem with Mustangs" and I have to buy a battery tender and simply live with it. I called the Ford Motor Company yet AGAIN and was told that this problem has not been documented and there are no recalls so there is nothing they can do to help me. They actually denied even knowing about the problem - THEY DO. This is unacceptable. I have to basically plug my car in every night just so it runs the next day????

Okay so I had problems with my battery draining back in August of 2010 so I bought a BRAND NEW battery. I have been extra careful with it by making sure I don't go more than 48 hrs without driving it AND just as an extra precaution, I've been turning off the radio before I take out my key just in case that was what was draining the battery. Well yesterday evening my battery was dead as a doornail. This time, however, I don't have the money to get a new one. Anyone considering this car, STAY AWAY! This is the 3rd complaint I've listed today and I have several more to cross off the list. I can only hope that other people won't be duped like I was! =(

this car is the worst car i have ever owned the first car i ever bought new - i would tell everyone not too by this car i have always driven fords had 1989 escort bought used loved it traded it for 1995 Taurus loved it gave to my kid got over 200,000miles and it still on the road but this mustang is a pain and this advice to drive it all the time is crap you need to recall this car and find out whats wrong----- and pay all owner-- for there time messing with today again 1/182011- went out to eat drove car 13miles to eat came out guess what car dead had to find someone to jump me this really is CRAP

I have a 2006 Mustang Gt and I had a problem about a year ago we went out to get in the car and the car acted like it didn't want to start and when it did the radio was on AM and the CD player was moving like it was searching, well it didn't do it anymore until just a few months ago. We went to go out in it on July 11th and it wouldn't start or anything so we had it towed and they said it was just the battery which I didn't think it was. Well August 29th the problem happened again and they are saying that I need to drive the car 95 miles a week to keep the battery charged, which I think it just ridiculous. My car only has 6700 miles on it and they are saying that I have to drive it 95 miles a week to keep the battery charged. What is wrong with Ford that they won't fix something that is a definite problem. I know I am not the only one going through this. I am so aggravated right now that I told the guy at Ford that I was disappointed in their product and I wouldn't recommend a mustang to anybody. I hope they come to realize like now that they need to fix this problem. I

If you don't drive the Mustang every day or every couple days, you have to have it jump started because everything, even the door locks, will not work. This has happened to me twice so far and my car only has 6000 miles on it. I have had it to the Ford dealer and they say that I have to live with this problem. Mine is not the only one doing this. So I have a $30,000 car that is in my opinion not reliable and a piece of junk. I keep my car in exceptional condition and this is a pain in the a--. I was told that I need to buy a battery charger of some type to keep the battery from dying. That is a bunch of bull. Why should I have to buy anything to put on a new car? It is new so there must be a problem that the Ford Motor Co. needs to address and fix. I have to start it every couple days or it is dead. FOUND ON ROAD DEAD!!!!! If anyone else is having the same problem, email me at jstlokn@aol.com so we can compare notes. I know for a fact that my car is not the only one with this problem. I know of 3 in my area alone and I am sure there are other ones as well. We need to get on this company and have them figure out what is wrong or take this car back at the price we paid for them and do a check to see if the problem can be solved.
