Car seemed sluggish, it was about 14 degrees outside and husband thought it was sluggish due to the weather. But it did not get better when warmed up so he drove it to a mechanic. When he arrived the car was smoking. He was told that the parking brake froze and by driving it it caused the rear wheel to smoke. The brake system had to be replaced. This appears to be a common problem in cold weather. Others have reported it in online chat rooms. Unfortunately, since we did not take it to a Ford mechanic and call the warranty company ahead of time this became an out of pocket expense. This should really be a recall problem since several people have reported it.
