The 2005 Mustang windshield glass seems to be much "softer" than others on the market. With only a few thousand miles on the car I started noticing quite a few very small (pin size) chips in the glass. Now after 17K miles there are thousands of these little chips. This windshield looks worse than my old pickup that had over 250K miles. I have spoken to several other 05 owners in the forums and have found that they too are experiencing something similar to this issue with their vehicle. The dealer stated that it too seemed to be an excessive amount of chips when looking at the general condition of the rest of the vehicle. A few minor chips on the front fascia and hood are all that there is up front. No gravel roads in my area, not much construction either. My habits when driving are to avoid large vehicles and stay in the other lanes when behind one.
