Takata inflators I received a letter advising my Mustang was recalled due to airbags I just spoke with university Ford in chapel hill nc and was advised that they were replacing recalled airbag with same airbag as a temperary fix to send the removed airbag to Ford for study. They would get in touch with me when a permanent fix was available. It does not make sense to replace with a temporary fix. My other vehicle a Toyota, airbag was replaced by dealer with none of this run around if there is a recall then I deserve to have a permanent fix not a temporary one. While Ford is dragging their feet my son who drives this car is in danger of losing his life. I kean this is either a recall or a stall and sounds like Ford is stalling at the cost of the lives of people driving their cars. Why would I replace an airbag with one of the same type when the replacement might be defective and the one they took out for study might turn out to be fine. Ford needs to step up as the other manufacturers have. Toyota did not do a temporary fix, they fixed the problem

Takata recall. I received my notice of recall for driver side air bag dated May 21, 2015. I called my local dealer and was told that I would be informed when a replacement was available and to just wait until then to call again. As of April 11 2016 no word from Ford or my local dealer. When I call them I am told " we don't know when" then say maybe in 3 to six months. They also have said that as my car is a Florida car it is a priority. 11 months gone and 3 to 6 months to go for a priority car. Your site says that many bags have been replaced, but I can't even get a good time table. How can I get the truth from Ford Motor Company?

Takata recall - recall 15S21 - parts are still unavailable for this fix since July 2015. Live in high humidity area - have two Mustangs that need the recall fix done and the dealership is unable to get the parts. How long is it going to take to fix a critical issue. Recall is useless without the available parts - this is too long after a recall notice for the parts to still be unavailable. Please notify when parts will be available for Ford. Other auto companies (Honda) have been able to get the fix - but not Ford for the Mustangs.

Takata recall I purchased a used 2005 Ford Mustang from tideland Ford in pawleys island S.C when I checked on the recall list my car was on the list for takata airbag, I went to the dealer to check to see if it had been repaired and was told it wasn, T they claim my airbag is of thee old Ford style not the same as the newer Ford and Ford will be replacing the newer ones first and not to hold my breath on mine getting mine fixed in the near future because they have no old style in inventory. As ilive in a high humidity area, which is the climate to cause the airbag to fail. Now I know this is not the fault of tideland as they have been honest and as helpful as they could but cannot do anything until Ford supplies them with the appropriate replacement. I am worried each time I drive the car as it is ten years old, and probably about to fail what can be done to have Ford also supply there dealers with the correct parts to fix my car.
