Engine stall when coming to a stop. Took it to a ford dealership and they said it was the throttle body, so I had it replaced. drove it home and on the way it stalled again several times. Took it back and they said it was the MAF sensor, so they cleaned it. Drove it home and it stalled about 4 miles up the road. Took it back and the dealership tech, said that the MAF needed to be replaced, so I let them replace it. Drove it home and it stalled again about 3 miles up the road, at this point I'm a blue flame. This time the dealership said that the PCM was bad and that it would take 2 weeks to come in. I had it replaced and they said that if we install it and the MAF checks out good we will not charge you for the MAF. Two weeks later the dealership calls and tell me that the car is ready and it was'nt the MAF. Now my bill is over $1200.00. Drove it home and 1 week later my wife comes home and says, "I have bad news, the car is doing the same thing and I had to leave it where it stopped. Can anyone please help with this? I AM REALLY UPSET TO PUT IT MILDLY. THANKS!

I saw a guy that has a 2005 Explorer or something it was a ford, wanted to register and add a comment, that from everything that I read I'm having the same problems. I can start my mustang fine, put it into reverse, back up then put her into drive. But if I start up and put her into drive I stall out and the engine dies. Now I'm a certified break mechanic, and Still need to take transmissions and ecm [Electronic Components maintenance] before I can take my ASE certification tests. But I am very qualified. And specialize in classic fords. And from everything I have seen, and trust me I worked at ford. So I know of sites that most people don't It is looking like a transmission problem, and like I said that's one of few classes I don't have under my belt. It could be you're automatic transmission doesn't shift down into first gear so it stalls out. Try shifting into first if you're in the same boat, step on the break and idle in first for a couple of seconds then shift up into drive since you're still in first theoretically it should cause the problem to stop if it does then you will know it's your transmission and should get maintenance
