My car's windshield sprayer/washer wasn't working and it wasn't the washer pump, wiring, column switch, or a fuse (don't ask me how much time was spent troubleshooting this one!) The problem ended up being a corroded/broken pin on the wiper motor's connector. Why the washer pump is wired through the wiper motor is beyond me. It's becoming pretty obvious that the design of the wiper motor was intended to fail early and fail often. If the rubber cowl drain plug below the wiper motor fills up with leaves/trash, the compartment fills up with water and the wiper motor and all of the lovely electrical connections sit in water until the water evaporates. Even then, the wiper motor never drains since it's mounted in a direction where water cannot escape the motor and it's electronics. Failure is inevitable.
