The contact was a witness to the failure in a 2005 Ford Mustang. While lifting the front driver and passenger seat side latches, which operate the movement of the seat to the back seat, the latch shattered into several pieces. The owner was unable to access the back seat due to this failure. There was no warning prior to this failure. The vehicle has not been repaired.
