This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Vehicle is 1999 Ford mustang, 3.8 liter engine with 5-speed manual transmission. Dealer replaced clutch, throwout bearing and pressure plate at approx. 2000 miles for original owner. Dealer did same work for myself (2nd owner) at approx. 20,000 miles. Car now has 54000 miles and clutch work is again needed. I have owned many Ford with manual transmissions and never had a clutch last less than 100,000 miles, so my driving style can't be the problem.
